Hot Toys The Force Awakens Han Solo & Chewbacca

We as collectors are often dupe into buying Hot Toys products repeatedly for the same type of items over and over again. We have seen it on Iron Man Mark VII and many others but the recent Star Wars action figures from Hot Toys will surely suck deeper into our pockets. We were quite happy to hear earlier that Hot Toys was releasing Han Solo and Chewbacca action figure based on Star Wars : A New Hope. The price for these items skyrocketed with tremendous demand. Personally, I felt Han Solo head sculpt then was somehow a bit off from what we have expected.

                                

But when we saw the pictures released by Hot Toys with yet again Han Solo and Chewbacca albeit from The Force Awakens, we were floored, excited and insanely pump with anticipation for these figures. It was an improved version of Han Solo with the face mannerism captured with extreme detail. Chewbacca still looks the same with slight improvement on the articulated jaw, updated fur and new ammo band around its neck based on the movie.

Since Han Solo was killed off from The Force Awakens, we believe this will be the last version that Hot Toys will be sculpting him for an action figure. Looks like we may just have to get this combo set. Check out the pictures below to decide yourself.

Hot Toys Iron Man Mark XLII 1/4 Scale Action Figure

It is inevitable that we will see Hot Toys recycle and double dip us with their costly action figure molds and without a doubt they have just announce Iron Man Mark XLII which in reality is the exact sculpt from Iron Man Mark XLIII. We have seen a lot of similar action figures variant for Iron Man Mark VII and it does not comes to any surprise that Hot Toys will just have to give us Mark XLII which is also the main iron man suit featured in the Iron Man 3 movie.

Personally, I don’t think any of us who had already owned the 1/4 scale Mark XLIII will want to get Mark XLII. The red and gold in Mark XLIII is looking pretty amazing as Iron Man just have to be red and not gold. Well, for hardcore iron man collectors, I'm sure you would not want to pass on this. Moreover, the released photos by Hot Toys as shown below still looks pretty impressive as usual.

HOT TOYS STAR WARS 1/6 SCALE ACTION FIGURES

It has been a very long wait for another trilogy since the last 6 episodes of StarWars being released. The first 3 episodes were the defining moment in the history of sci fi movies and I’m talking about Episode IV to VI and not I to III. The later 3 chapters were a letdown mostly due to the overly used of CGI methodology in movie making. Things get a bit out of hand when some of the Episode IV to VI shots were re-edited with addition of new CGI footage. Some may welcome it with excitement but purist hated and cursed it till the end of time.

Nevertheless, Episode I to III is critical in telling the story of Anakin Skywalker as ‘The Chosen One’ and how he became the infamous Darth Vader who eventually brought down the Empire. Well, come to think of it, he is really ‘The Chosen One’ to bring balance to the Force. Star Wars eventually has become a cash cow juggernaut with the release of The Force Awakens. 

As we all would have imagine, Hot Toys has already spewing out chunks of 1/6 scale Star Wars collectible action figures for preorder non-stop nowadays. Before Hot Toys was even in the Star Wars line, Sideshow Collectibles has already released an impressive portfolio of Star Wars characters ranging from 1/6 scale, 1/4 scale premium format and all the way to life size scale.

There are quite a substantial amount of preorder releases to keep track and think about before we even dive into the Star Wars line. Just by collecting the 1/6 scale droids/troopers from Star Wars are going to be overwhelming. If you think Hot Toys are throwing out Ironman way too frequent then you can collect, you have no idea how much stuff that they can throw at us with the Star Wars. E.g. vehicles, replicas, props, action figures, aliens, creatures, etc. Not forgetting we haven’t even see the remaining Episodes VIII and IX. Disney will sure milk the last drop out of Star Wars for next 5 years with movies, toys, merchandise, theme park rides, etc.

As for now, let us just have a look at these upcoming 1/6 scale Star Wars action figures from Hot Toys. 

HOT TOYS 1/6 SCALE ARMORED BATMAN

Recently, there has been enormous amount of super heroes bombarding non-stop over the movie industry. We have seen Marvel onslaught and now we are beginning to see DC flexing their muscles with the Man of Steel, The Dark Knight and Batman V Superman. DC is also planning for The Aquaman, possibly a standalone Wonder Woman movie and certainly Justice League.

Before we even go any further, let’s just have a look at the Batman new armour suit from Hot Toys. Frankly, this is a bulky Bat Suit from what we see of all the Batman movies ever release. Some of us may like it but for some reasons the new armour suit looks simplistic and lack of design details. We are yet to see it in action but I’m still wondering how it actually protect Batman from Superman. Most of us may wonder if Superman gives Batman a punch, we would believe that the impact will definitely kills Batman even though externally Batman may be all armoured up.

As for now, let’s just enjoy the 1/6 scale Hot Toys Batman Armour suit photos below. I would think most of us may just need to watch Batman V Superman before we even plunge ourselves into a buying spree all over again.

Hot Toys Avengers 2 - 1:6 Iron Legion

Once in a while we somehow have to display our lead character figure together with some enemy grunts or alliance troops so that it looks way much more dramatic. That is where Hot Toys is bringing us the Iron Legion robot from the Avengers 2 movie. If only the price of this figure can be reduce by having it power pose combo figures which will surely be a great hit. At present, there are just way too much Iron Man armour suits released already and collectors are thinking twice whether to invest for something which is not as popular as the Iron Man suit itself since the price point of Iron Legion is quite close to a typical main armour suit from the Iron Man series.

However, there are still a lot of hardcore collectors out there which will still pick this up. There are just way too much hype on the Mark 43 to Mark 45 now which we may have to save those hard earn sweaty money so that we can get a piece of these crown jewel ferrari goodies.

AVENGERS II AGE OF ULTRON MARK XLV 1:6 SCALE

I guess by now we all have already walked and tasted the aftermath of the Ultron's destruction. We all will just have to admit Avengers II has blasted its way to the USD1 billion box office mark yet again with it all crowded superhero flick. Is it any good? Who cares, we all just want to have a nice action pop corn movie and in some ways seem to look much more realistic than the original Avengers. 

Anyway, let's get back to our preview of this 'Ferrari' Iron Man Mark XLV suit from Hot Toys and I must say that I am very much impress with this all new look. Although this suit of armour is featured prominently in the movie, we hardly notice and able to appreciate the design as the action scenes were so ridiculously fast that it's practically impossible to see its details. Moreover, we have almost 1/2 dozen of super heroes running around flexing its muscles in the movie which makes our eyes pretty much sore after the end credits.

As for now, let's have a closer look at the 'Bloody Ferrari'.
