Transformers Generation 1 - Optimus Prime Statue From Prime 1 Studio

We saw the Prime 1 Studio concept art of the upcoming classic G1 style of Optimus Prime and Megatron several months ago. It was quite interesting to see our beloved G1 Transformers being produced in a massive statue format. Prime 1 Studio did a fantastic job in re-imagining the MP-01 Optimus Prime which we adored and loved as a kid. Moreover, they have added some interesting new design sculpting throughout the whole body, arm and leg units. The included blaster and rock base are looking outstanding too.

It is crucial to have an eleborate design but yet retaining the geist of the Optimus Prime presence without tampering too much to the origin. Michael Bay should have go back to the roots of Transformers and try to do something similar but sadly he rather give us the alienated BumbleBee look and Optimus Prime Knight armour which somewhat looks like a 'breast' top bikini in Transformers Age of Extinction.

We will certainly be seeing more of this G1 style pretty soon with Megatron now still in development by Prime 1 Studio.

Pop Culture Collectible Showcase Gallery at e@curve by Shioktoys

We have been following Prime 1 Studio very closely for a while now and there has been quite substantial amount of collectible statues rolling out from them recently. It was also a surprise to know that Shioktoys had opened a  gallery in e@curve on 18 June 2016 with a choke full of amazing looking statues from Prime 1 Studio.  It was without a doubt that Prime 1 Studio has an impressive looking line-up of statues with incredible detailing and craftsmanship.

The  statues on display are mostly from the Transformers,  Batman, Superman, Iron Man and also some older Sideshow Collectible Premium Format pieces.  The showcase gallery is quite impressive with the individual statues standing higher than the usual human eye level giving it an uncanny lifelike experience. Some of our favourites are the Optimus Prime statues, Arkham Knight Bat Mobile and Lockdown statue. The Galvatron was also looking very menacing with loads of detailing on its whole body.

We also manage to take a few photos from the gallery collection and also a specially edited 2 part video look at the gallery  (Be sure to scroll down and watch the special feature movies).

PRIME 1 STUDIO TMNT CASSICS

We are about to get a chance to see another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it could be fun and certainly a throwback from how it all started. Well, we can cherish the old classic TMNT now and it is from Prime 1 Studio. These guys looks very nice but I wish it could be a little bit more dynamic action pose since it is a statue. If these are the final pose, I guess a lot of collectors will be waiting for the 1/4 NECA action figure.

Frankly this could have been as good or better than what Good Smile has given us and I personally think those statues were spectacular. Check out the good old smile below.

PRIME 1 STUDIO UPCOMING G1 TRANSFORMERS STATUES

The Transformers franchise has come a long way since the cartoon days till the present live action movie. It was really an eye opener when we first watch the live action Transformers some years way back then. It was stunningly created when Blackout transform itself into the robot mode from the apache helicopter and start attacking the US Army base. When Michael Bay continue to helm the remaining sequels it was all too familiar with explosions, pyrotechnics, stunts and Victoria Secret adverts every now and then. Recently, we have seen several outstanding Transformers statues from Prime 1 Studio and we are quite excited then and even now it was very exciting to look at the upcoming Lockdown statue in its entirety.

Personally, I feel that Michael Bay needs to reboot/revamp/re-imagine Transformers so that it still looks as fresh as the original motion picture debut since he will be back again for another movie. The worst part is watching Age of Extinction’s Bumblebee head design totally change for the worst with sharp angles alienated look. Although Optimus Prime overall armour look is quite pleasant but why does he need to have a ‘bra’ looking chest plate which actually looks ridiculous. The new robot characters were rather good though and our advice is keep it simple and don’t over design the characters.

I still remember Sentinel Prime from Dark Of The Moon which was a nice character but why in the world does he need an ugly  Gundam ‘V’ fin and moustache on his face? I do understand that we need to maintain the face sculpt so that viewers can relate to the robot emotions but there are some things need not be overdone. It was only recently that something really caught my attention that Prime 1 Studio is releasing some Generation 1 (G1) Transformers statues very soon. Although these statues does not resemble the exact G1  likeness in the cartoon but it does have a lot of resemblance to the original G1 and the way it was design was to portray it in an updated look of Optimus Prime and Megatron that we remembered in our childhood.

I gotta say if these statues will be portray similar in the next instalment of Transformers, I’m sold. Bring it!

PRIME 1 STUDIO LOCKDOWN POLYSTONE STATUE

I’ve earlier posted some photos a few weeks back and recently only I stumbled upon the newly released pre order photos of Prime 1 Studio Lockdown statue. There is no doubt Lockdown was a memorable character in the overhyped, overblown and overkill Transformers Age of Extinction movie. I guess most of us were already very tired and frustrated with the same old firecrackers blowing up in the city.

Well, as long as the Transformers movies are still making tonnes of money in the box office, we will be seeing it all over again albeit bigger, louder and nonsensical. I truly felt that they should have gone deeper into the mythology of these sentient robots and how it all come into beings. We certainly do not want to hear something like all sparks which created all these transformers because that is a very lazy lame duck excuses to write a story.

Frankly, the design of Lockdown really looks impressive on screen and certainly with this upcoming statue, we will get to eyeball all day on all the details which went into it once it is released. If only other deception characters like Shockwave were given more speeches or dialogs to interact with one another, it could have been a better movie. Let us just see what we are going to witness when Optimus Prime meet his creator in the next Michael Bay last bid of redemption for the Transformers franchise.

PRIME 1 STUDIO TRANSFORMERS IRONHIDE STATUE

The new Prime 1 Studio Ironhide Transformers Statue looks pretty amazing and it's at 24" in height with light up features on its head, both arms cannon and chest. Firstly, I'm not a fan of Ironhide and the head sculpt really bothers me. It looks like a sad bull dog but the overall piece with all its armoury really set it apart from the rest.

There are really a lot of intricacy to look at from the body, arms and legs. One thing for sure, this is one big bulky Autobot and it's spectacular.

 Pray for me
 U want some of these?
 My torchlight will burn you
 I bite u
 Bulky me
Nuke em
 Close up
 Draw now
 Let me think about it
 Detailed to the max

See u at a shelf near you

[INCOMING] PRIME 1 STUDIO TRANSFORMERS GALVATRON

For the past few months, Prime 1 Studio has really blow our minds with some of the most intricate detailed statues collection that have ever been released with extremely high end paint application and outrageous amount of detailed figures.

Prime 1 Studio has not slow down a bit with yet another unveiling of Galvatron in its impeccable crazy amazingly realized statue. As we all know Galvatron did not play a major role in Transformers Age of Extinction but having to see it in statue form, we all can really appreciate the amount of work that are put in for this Decepticon warrior.

My guess is Prime 1 Studio is keeping a late release on Lockdown as a secret before releasing it which I personally think will be an amazing piece of art. For now, check out this baby aleady!

 I need an arc reactor
 I am so hollow
I drop my penny in my engine
 Behold
 I'm all about mech
 Face Off
Megatron will be proud of me
 Need so engine oil here
Don't put your hand in my maserator
